Avenel is a small town 114kms north of Melbourne, situated on the foothills of the Strathbogie Ranges between Euroa and Seymour and west of the Hume Freeway.
Places of interest include the historic six arch stone bridge over Hughes Creek and the Stewart park walking trail and picnic area not far from the Cobb & Co. Coach House. Bank and Queen Streets have several historic buildings such as the old Court House, the Harvest Home Hotel to name a few. Avenel is also on route for those following the Ned Kelly Trail.
